Homemade Alfredo Sauce and Pasta Recipe

My husband and I really wanted to make a homemade pasta this week. Since we don't have too much time, we decided to buy packaged pasta but made our own homemade sauce. This recipe is amazing and rich and gave us a chance to cook together! The aroma was divine and filled our kitchen right away, I've included instructions not only for the recipe for the complete dish too. I found this recipe on ehow but made my own rendition by adding ground turkey, to this great recipe. This makes a lot of sauce and serves 6-8 people.
Ingredients:
  • 1 Pint Heavy Cream
  • 8 oz Shredded (not the powder) Parmesan Cheese
  • 8 oz Shredded Romano
  • 16 TBS. Butter (not margarine)
  • 6 Cloves Garlic, Finely Chopped
  • 1/4 Sweet Onion, Finely Chopped (or) equivalent amount of Shallots
  • 1 box pasta noodles (about 1 lb)
  • 1/4 pound ground turkey-optional (or more if you desire)
  • oregano or your preferred meat seasoning
Directions:
  1. Melt the butter slowly, in the pan. In the meantime, peel and chop the garlic and onion as instructed.
  2. Once it is melted completely add the garlic and onion. Then bring the temperature up to just above medium low heat, allowing it to fry a bit. Stop the frying and bring the temperature back down to medium low before the butter browns.
  3. Once you have the garlic, onion and butter ready, leave it on medium low and add the heavy cream, parmesan, and romano cheese. Stir the sauce(keep doing this constantly so it doesn't stick to the bottom).
  4. At the same time, start your boiling water and cook your pasta. This usually takes 6-10 minutes, depending on your noodles. Make sure you do not let your sauce sit without stirring for too long.
  5. While your noodles boil, take your 1/4 lb ground turkey and mix in about about a teaspoon of oregano (or your preferred seasoning). Knead the seasoning in with your hands until it is mixed in well. Cook the turkey in a skillet for a few minutes and grind into smaller pieces or chunks.
  6. Drain your pasta and finish cooking your ground turkey.
  7. Now serve your pasta onto a dish or bowl. Dress with the alfredo sauce and top with ground turkey and pepper, if desired.
Bon Appetit!

This recipe is really easy and the sauce is so rich and creamy! This recipe is a winner and so much enticing than canned alfredo sauce. We gave this sauce 5 stars and hope you enjoy this recipe in your home too!
